Polite Society
27th April at St Peter's Centre, Church St, Staithes TS13 5DBThe poster is classic Bollywood, but Polite Society is a British comedy thriller which sees martial arts enthusiast and would-be stunt woman Ria deploy her action skills in an attempt to save sister Lena from her impending marriage. After enlisting the help of her friends, Ria attempts to pull off the most ambitious of all wedding heists in the name of independence and sisterhood.
Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian said: 'Polite Society is a pointed satire of the marriage market'. Nida Manzoor's debut delivers 'serious levels of goof, wack and zane for a feelgood action comedy with a very incorrect adjective in the title.' We have monthly church services throughout the year, Also a number of special ones - Easter and Christmas Carols. We are a friendly congregation - all welcome!
