Venue Hire in Staithes

A Wonderful Venue

St Peter’s Centre stands in the heart of the lower village with its own cultural history. It is stone built in a traditional style and has a rare (for Staithes) garden area. It is a listed building and in the North York Moors National Park. A substantial house first built for a sea Captain, it then became a school and since 1889 the upper storey has been licenced for Anglican worship, the Church of St Peter the Fisherman.

The space has been recently refurbished throughout and is now a beautiful setting for events, we currently host workshops, monthly cinema, pop-up cafes, concerts, theatre, pop-up craft stalls and exhibitions. During the summer months the ground floor is occupied by the Staithes Arts and Crafts Centre.

We welcome private hires. The main room upstairs is carpeted and can accommodate up to 60 people – ideal for parties, dinners, music, meetings and as a genial personal work space (strong internet). The downstairs room has a wooden floor and is also available in the winter from November to March. It also has a capacity of 60. Both the upper and downstairs rooms could be hired together for large events. The garden area is a delight, equipped with a large roll-out canopy and café style tables and chairs.

We have a small but fully equipped kitchen.
